Stock Photography
Photographers can license their work to agencies that in turn market those images to advertisers and publishers. We explain the expanding business of Stock Photography. Students learn about the processes and protocols of shooting for stock and submitting work to agencies. Instructors discuss shooting to layout, file formats, metadata, and copyright issues, as well as the distinctions between royalty-free and rights managed images.

We cover the final display of your portfolio, should it be online or a hardcopy or both.

Branding, persuasion, and human perception will also be discussed. Students will be introduced to online directories and sourcebooks as well as entering contests. Students will learn how to create a self-promotion piece and develop a personal strategy or visual identity for their business.
